India's Karnataka Formation Day (Kannada Rajyotsava)
A cheerful baby elephant with giant smiling eyes and playful flapping ears stands joyfully in calm river shallows, surrounded by magnificent blooming lotus flowers and gentle fluttering butterflies. Rolling green hills and a warm morning sun frame the peaceful water scene, drawn with extra-bold, rounded contours specifically created for toddlers and preschoolers building hand-eye coordination with their first crayons.
Celebrated across southern India every year on November 1, Karnataka Formation Day (Kannada Rajyotsava) commemorates the historic date in 1956 when all Kannada-speaking regions were officially unified into a single state under the States Reorganisation Act (initially named Mysore State, and proudly rechristened Karnataka on November 1, 1973). The Asian Elephant is honored as Karnataka's official State Animal, and the sacred Lotus is celebrated as the official State Flower, symbolizing beauty, perseverance, and ecological heritage.
